We are all aware of the election results and the Republican Party
take-over of the Senate. There are many
speculations as to what this will mean for our country going forward. What will be the first thing brought to the
floor for discussion and disagreement?
Will it be the current transportation bill, MAP-21, which comes due for
renegotiation next spring? How about the
Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which would bar employers
from engaging in anti-LGBT bias in the workplace? Or perhaps, the passing of Keystone XL
pipeline? And what will become of the long-standing
declaration that a Republican take-over will mean fewer women serving as committee
chairs? As with all change, only time
will tell the outcome and since my crystal ball is broken, I too will have to
wait on time.
