Horses Deer Hawks And Eagles Spotlight The Equestrian Community Of Saddle Creek

When I arrived in Florida with my husband and horse, I needed to find a place to board while I searched for the perfect home and barn to buy. Coming from Buffalo, New York where my horse had been boarded way out in the country sometimes up to an hour away, I started looking for the right farm and barn, thinking that it would be the same situation, Was I surprised to find out that here in the Sarasota-Manatee area there are Equestrian subdivisions! Not only are they convenient to civilization, but they are actual neighborhoods, with HOA's, so that your investment is protected, you have neighbors to talk to , and you can live among horse people and horses! There are several Equestrian subdivisions, but today my focus is Saddle Creek.

Herald Tribune's Real Estate Magazine on March 8, 2013.
It is located five miles east of Interstate 75, right across from the Sarasota National Cemetery on Clark Road. It is one of Sarasota's most peaceful and charming neighborhoods. Saddle Creek is an equestrian community with the tranquility of traditional country living.
Horses and cattle graze in paddocks and pastures dotted with 100-year-old oaks. Many of the properties have gated entrances with long, winding driveways leading to the homes. Saddle Creek has 168 homes, all situated on large plots of land — HOA regulations require them to be a minimum of 5 acres. As a result, there is plenty of room for fishing in ponds, walking in wooded areas and roaming in scenic meadows surrounded by three-board fences. The more than 30 miles of equestrian trails winding through the neighborhood encourage lots of horse riding. Residences have to occupy a minimum of 2,500 square feet under air. Built in a variety of architectural styles, there are more two-story homes than in most Sarasota neighborhoods, as well as red brick houses that you would typically see in Georgia, contemporary dwellings, large equestrian estate houses and sizable, single-story ranches ranging from four to six bedrooms and four bathrooms. Saddle Creek appeals to retirees, empty nesters and families with children — anyone who likes having breathing space.  It is also just minutes to beautiful Siesta Beach. You do not have to own horses to enjoy Saddle Creek. There is so much wildlife, bobcats, fox, deer, hawks, eagles, turtles crossing the road etc..  Everyday is a different sight as you come and go. A great place to take pictures, bike ride, walk, and jog. It is very unique.  I bought my house and barn. Let me help you find yours.
